OUR STORY
VEXTANT is V (Voice) + EXTANT (still here).
We design apparel around the animals who are still here — rescues, strays, endangered species — and let 5% of every purchase speak for them, through animal welfare organizations near you.

ABOUT US
We're not a nonprofit. We're not a rescue organization. But we believe that businesses can and should do more than just sell things — and that "more" doesn't have to be complicated.

We're Forestside Trade & Supply, the small Japan-based company behind VEXTANT. Our designs are shaped by Japanese aesthetics — understated, intentional, and built to last beyond a season.
Japan has a complicated relationship with giving. Unlike in North America or Europe, where charitable donations are deeply woven into everyday culture, giving in Japan has historically been more private, more institutional, less visible. We think that's starting to change — and we want to be part of that change.
The idea behind VEXTANT is simple: what if buying a T-shirt you genuinely liked also quietly helped an animal somewhere in the world?
Not a campaign. Not a hashtag. Just a built-in commitment — 5% of every purchase goes directly to animal welfare organizations. When you buy from us in the US or Europe, that money goes to international organizations working on the ground. When purchases happen in Japan, it stays here, supporting local shelters and rescue networks that rely almost entirely on volunteers.
We're not a nonprofit. We're not a rescue organization. But we believe that businesses can and should do more than just sell things — and that "more" doesn't have to be complicated.
Our products center on animals — endangered species, rescue dogs, rescue cats, and the strays that live somewhere between wild and forgotten. Sometimes it's a portrait. Sometimes it's a slogan. Sometimes it's just a graphic that felt right.
The entry point is always design. If you love the piece, great. If you later find out it helped fund a wildlife conservation program or a local shelter, even better. That's exactly the order we want it to happen in.
Every item is produced through Print on Demand — meaning nothing is made until you order it. No warehouses. No waste. Production happens close to you, reducing the environmental cost of shipping halfway around the world. It also means we don't need to work through large retail platforms, and the margin we save there goes back into the 5% we give away.
We think that's a better way to run a small brand. Leaner, cleaner, and more honest about where the money goes.
There are hundreds of thousands of animals still waiting — in shelters, in the wild, on the streets. They're still here. So are we.
